So What Will Haiti's Orphans Make Of Reality Star Kim Kardashian?

With pared down make-up, her hair tightly scraped back into a simple ponytail and without her trademark 6 inch heels - it was a very contrite Kim Kardashian who appeared on the island of Haiti. In the wake of unprecedented criticism following the collapse of her $10million marriage to basketball star Kris Humphries, she has headed to the earthquake ravaged country to bring smiles to disadvantaged children.
The reality TV star dressed simply for the event, but it was hard to say what the children - who provided picture perfect smiles - would make of the young woman who thinks nothing of spending $10,000 on a handbag.

Kim was joined by her mother and manager Kris Jenner as she brought smiles to over 500 disadvantaged children in the earthquake ravaged country.
They spent time looking around the nation's capital Port-au-Prince and visited orphanages with charity Sow A Seed.
Sow a Seed, a registered non-profit, volunteer-based organization, works with struggling orphanages in Haiti, assisting them with food, shelter, education and healthcare.
The recently single star showed her compassionate side and played with some of the children and showed off her moves in a dance workshop.
The Kardashians have come under fire recently from some of Hollywood's elite because of their TV shows and growing media empire.

Last month, Daniel Craig, 43, blasted the family as 'f***ing idiots' and yesterday Jonah Hill weighed in with his opinion.
He said: 'It's a super disgusting part of our culture, but I still find it funny to make a joke about it.'
Kim put her recent troubles behind her and was clearly moved and touched by her experience in Haiti.
She tweeted: 'Seeing the tents they STILL live in is devastating!Every1 can help RT @Oprah: 500k Haitians still homeless!Like the earthquake happened yest (sic).

Kris Jenner was also taken aback by the experience and was seen lovingly holding a little boy in her arms.
The matriarch of the Kardashian clan kept her sunglasses on but smiled as she paid special attention to the disadvantaged child.
The 31-year-old reality star - who slipped into a pair of racy leather boots - teamed up with actress and singer Maria Bello, who has been working in Haiti for the past three years.

The Coyote Ugly star co-founded We Advance, an organisation set up in 2010 in response to the devastating earthquake in the country.
Maria and Kim went to visit and celebrate women the charity works with and the reality star told fans the experience was ‘incredible’ and posted a picture to her blog showing  herself and Maria, her mother Kris and Patricia Arquette, who was also in the party.
Kim and Maria also wrote a blog post for The Huffington post about their experience and explained what they were doing.

‘We were brought together through a bizarre turn of events, and we discovered our mutual goal of empowering women using our own unique voices.’
‘Our itinerary was to visit some of the small, grassroots NGOs that We Advance works with, including Artists for Peace and Justice, Femmes en Democratie, and Give Love, and to join women at the trade fair and fashion show in celebrating their achievements,’ the pair posted on the website.
The party were not the only familiar faces in Haiti and chat show legend Oprah Winfrey is also in the country.
The broadcaster’s trip included dinner with President Michel Martelly and his wife Sophia and she promised to return to the country.

As Oprah flew into the country she was met by Sean Penn, who said helping to rebuild the country after last year’s natural disaster has become his ‘life’s work’.
A massive, 7.0 earthquake struck Haiti last January 12th, killing 230,000 and making 1.3 million more homeless.
'This is part of the next chapter, going around the world to see interesting and fascinating cases of profound examples of what can be done to make a difference in the world,' Winfrey told reporters at the encampment.

Oprah, who met up with US fashion designer Donna Karen today says she will be featuring the venture in a program about Haiti on her Oprah Winfrey Network.
Meanwhile back in L.A. today Kris Jenner was seen out and about with her other daughters Khloe and Kourtney.
Kim may well be licking her wounds after pictures surfaced which appear to show her estranged husband Kris Humphries entertaining girls in their marital apartment just weeks before they split.
