Mad Men's Jon Hamm fires back again over Kim Kardashian 'f***ing idiot' insult

Jon Hamm added more fuel to the fire today in his ongoing war of words with Kim Kardashian.
The Mad Men actor referred to the reality star when he recently hit out at the cult of celebrity in an interview with April's Elle UK magazine, saying that it made ' f***ing idiots' like Kim and Paris Hilton into millionaires.
Kim, 31, who was spotted at the airport in Miami today, fired back at Hamm  - branding his comments 'careless' earlier this month.
But during an appearance on The Today Show this morning, 41-year-old Hamm firmly stood by his remarks.

When asked about the matter by host Matt Lauer, Hamm responded: 'I don’t think [my comments] were careless. I think they were accurate.'
He pulled no punches as he made another attack on the culture of reality television.

 

'It’s a part of our culture that I certainly don’t identify with, and I don’t really understand the appeal of it other than in a sort of car crash sensibility,' he said.

'And it’s not something that I partake in or enjoy, but it is what is and here we are.'
Hamm's co-star Vincent Kartheiser - who plays Pete Campbell in the Sixties drama - then waded in, saying he agreed with Jon's comments.
He mused: 'Our society enjoys to turn on the television and see someone who’s maybe awful and they can say, "Well at least I’m not as terrible as that person."'
Hamm then concluded: 'There are a lot of channels on the dials and those channels need to be filled up with things… It’s different strokes for different folks.'

Response: The 31-year-old reality star took to her Twitter page to express her opinion over his words, before Hamm said he stood by his comments today

 His latest remarks come after Kim took to Twitter earlier this month to defend herself in the wake of his initial attack.

She wrote: 'Calling someone who runs their own businesses, is a part of a successful TV show, produces, writes, designs, and creates, 'stupid,' is in my opinion careless.'
'I respect Jon and I am a firm believer that everyone is entitled to their own opinion and that not everyone takes the same path in life. We're all working hard and we all have to respect one another.'

Speaking to Elle, Hamm said: 'Whether it's Paris Hilton or Kim Kardashian or whoever, stupidity is certainly celebrated.
'Being a f***ing idiot is a valuable commodity in this culture because you're rewarded significantly.'
The Golden Globe winning actor added that the success of reality TV stars 'doesn't make any sense' to him.
