More Followers Than The President! Kim Kardashian Eclipses Obama On Twitter As She Gains 14 Million Fans

She shot to fame on a reality show and would probably never have dreamed to be more popular than the President.
But Kim Kardashian has eclipsed Barack Obama on Twitter, winning 5 million more followers than arguably the most powerful man in the world.
'OMG 14 million! I can't believe it! Thank you guys so much!!!!!!', the pneumatic reality star gushed on her Twitter feed upon learning the news.
She then went on to post a series of pictures of herself blowing kisses to her fans to show her appreciation.

Kim now has the 7th largest number of followers on Twitter, also putting her ahead of the Dalai Lama, Oprah and Bill Gates.
The top 6 celebrities are Lady Gaga with over 20 million followers, Justin Bieber with over 18 million followers, Katy Perry with over 16 million followers, Rihanna ties with Shakira as they both have around 15 million followers and in 6th place is Britney Spears.
Obama is number 8 on the Twitter list with a little over 13 million followers while Republican frontrunner Mitt Romney only has a measly 340,000.

Kim later took to her website where she could thank her fans in more detail, unhindered by the 140 character limit.

'I can’t believe I just passed 14 million followers on Twitter! This is crazy! Thank you all so much… I love you guys!'

Earlier this week Kim had to defend herself after being slammed by Mad Men actor Jon Hamm as stupid.

'Being a f***ing idiot is a valuable commodity in this culture because you're rewarded significantly.'
The Golden Globe winning actor added that the success of reality TV stars 'doesn't make any sense' to him.
