As Kris Humphries' father claims his son was 'blindsided' by split
Kim Kardashian's decision to file for divorce after just 72 days of marriage to Kris Humphries shocked even the most fervent of reality show fans. But she is finding a way to distance herself from the subsequent backlash - by throwing herself into her work.
The 31-year-old reality star was spotted on the set of the ironically titled movie The Marriage Counsellor today in Atlanta.

Although a representative for Kim claims Kris did in fact know the divorce was coming, William says his son is suffering.
'He's hurting but we're here for him,' he says. 'It's not a nice situation.
'No matter how you look at it, he's going through a divorce.'
Another friend of the former New Jersey Nets star adds that Kris was initially so hurt, he refused to speak to his wife.
'Kris told me that Kim was texting him a lot, but he wouldn't respond,' said the friend.
'They did speak briefly the day the split was announced - but only because she was apparently p***ed that he released his own statement.'
Meanwhile, Kim's mother Kris Jenner has defended her daughter's surprise decision.
'It's a very brave thing she did,' Kris told Jay Leno on The Tonight Show last night.
'She didn't want to disappoint anybody, let alone her family.
'I had to have a good stuff drink before I told my mother. That was really hard for me,' she added.

'I don't know,' she admitted last night. 'She [Kim] has been on the road. She's trying to figure it out. She's had a very difficult decision to make.
'I told her "follow your heart and the only thing I can do is be there for you."
'She's my daughter and I have to respect what she's going through.'
Revelations: Kris discussed the pressure Kim may have felt before her two-part televised wedding
But matriarch Kris yesterday agreed with Leno's assertion that it would have been tricky should Kim have wanted to pull out of the nuptials after the big television deal was made.
'It was a lot of pressure,' she said. 'I don't know what was going on in her head.
'I can't really tell you what her innermost thoughts and feelings were because I don't know.'

Kris agreed that Kim was taking her mind off her heartbreak by keeping busy.
'She went to Australia, she went to Minnesota, she came home and now she's in Atlanta filming a movie. She's just trying to throw herself into her work and keep her obligations fulfilled.'
Leno also quizzed Kris on whether Kim had made the decision to marry Humphries too quickly - the couple first started dating last October, before becoming engaged in May this year.
They then famously tied the knot in August.

'She's a hopeless romantic, but when they told me they were getting married, I had no reason to think this was a big red flag,' she insisted.
However, Kris did reveal that Humphries will not be edited out of the forthcoming second series of reality show Kourtney & Kim Take New York, which has just been filming.
'We decided a long time ago when we were first doing this show that we were going to be just raw and not edit ourselves.'
