Kim Kardashian Says Getting a Million Dollar Birthday Cake Is 'Ridiculous'

Hitting out at plans by GLO nightclub to create a cake scattered with diamonds for her to enjoy, Kim insists the money should instead be used to help homeless people in the Big Apple.
Kim Kardashian thinks its "ridiculous" a New York nightclub wants to give her a $1 million birthday cake. The "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star, who turned 30 on Thursday, October 21, has hit out at plans by GLO nightclub to create a cake scattered with diamonds for her to enjoy.

Kim insists the money should go to help homeless people in The Big Apple. She said, "First of all, this is the first I've heard about this, and I would never allow anyone to spend that much money on cake. Making a million dollar birthday cake is just ridiculous! I'd rather they gave me a cupcake and donate the rest of the money to the homeless."

She has also denied the event, which is expected to have 2,000 guests, has been organized by her as she has already had her birthday party in Las Vegas. She told Radar Online, "I've already had my birthday club celebrations at Tao in Vegas and NYC and there are no other birthday parties planned."

Danielle Orsino, who does the public relations for the New York nightspot, confirmed the cake was being made as a "fun surprise". She said, "The restaurateur and jeweler wanted to break the record for the most expensive cake and they wanted to surprise Kim. They've been working so hard on it and still want to present it to the public, of course they won't force her to accept it, it was just meant to be a fun surprise."
