Kim Kardashian pokes fun at herself in guest spot on Drop Dead Diva

Kim Kardashian has swapped acting up her reality show for an actual acting role.

The 31-year-old's fans have been treated to a sneak peak of her guest spot on Drop Dead Diva.

The star, who now has a reoccurring role on the Lifetime TV show, posted a clip of the show on her blog today, saying: 'I can’t wait for the June 3 premiere of Drop Dead Diva!!

'I had so much fun on set with the cast and I think you guys are going to love this episode!'

The advert promotes the season four return of the show next month, with the catch line: 'This June, the only thing better that a diva... is two divas.

She is in line play Nikki, who is a love interest for Ben Feldman's alter-ego Fred, and her character is set to go into business with Stacy, who is played by former Two and a Half Men beauty April Bowlby.

The sitcom also features Brooke D'Orsay as a lawyer who has inhabited the soul of a dead supermodel.

The star only has one line in the brief clip, which sees her poking fun at herself.

'If only I could figure out a way to make money out of being myself,' she is heard saying.

'She was great,' says Bowlby. 'She's so beautiful, very professional, knew her lines and was ready to play.'

Josh Berman, creator and executive producer of the programme, felt Kim's "humour and passion" made her the right person for the role.

"In discussing the role of Nikki with her, I'm blown away by her smarts, sense of humor, and passion. This series is all about reinvention and I'm so excited to see Kim 'reinvented' in the world of 'Drop Dead Diva'."

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians beauty previously starred in Beyond the Break and had a guest role in CSI: NY.

Drop Dead Diva will air June 3, 9pm on Lifetime.
